Podobně, jako portage se dá využít repository drobbinse z funtoo.org. Místo klasického emerge –sync použijeme následující:
cd /usr git clone git://github.com/funtoo/portage.git cd portage git checkout --track -b funtoo.org origin/funtoo.org
A je vymalováno. Pokud bude potřeba syncnout portage, stačí místo emerge –sync už jen:
cd /usr/portage git pull
